I could not believe what she decided to do...

Hannah is a bright, energetic, highly driven, and very intelligent grad student (photo: right).

In fact, Hannah's research director has gone to great, great lengths to open opportunities for her––some opportunities requiring clearance from high level university boards.

But all these opportunities were about to vanish.

Hannah received an email. What normally would have been a customary email, turned into a life-defining one.

Listed in the director's research proposal was something that pained Hannah’s conscience––something she was morally opposed to.

Hannah was overwhelmed. “Now what? What should I do?!”

Sleepless nights. Tears. Fear. Anxiety. Uncertainty…And more tears.

Finally, Hannah made plans for a smooth transition that wouldn’t burden her director and replied to her email.

Hannah scheduled a meeting with the director to work through her transition out of cutting edge cancer research––an unthinkable choice.

Yet that’s not what happened.

To Hannah’s complete surprise, the director proposed a different way of doing the research––changes that would affect how the entire department did their work! Hannah was shocked.

Unbelievably, Hannah kept her internship and scholarship, and she is able to complete her doctoral program and publish world class cancer research! Wow.
