"Just floating through life"

"Do you consider yourself a follower of Jesus?" I asked Tyler.

His demeanor suddenly became deflated and he mumbled a response.

"I wish. That used to describe me."

Later that day we got together. I listened as he confessed how he had been treating his girlfriend poorly, drinking and partying too much, and not been making healthy choices about anything:

"I'm just floating through life right now."

After a time of confession and re-commitment, I invited him to do more than just float through college, but to live for God and make a difference.

And God provided exactly what Tyler needed––in a surprising way.
