
“Ever since I could walk, I kicked a ball and played soccer. But I also lacked self-control…and it eventually caught up with me when I lost my temper and started a fight with another guy [on the soccer field].
I was suspended from school and kicked off the high school and city soccer teams for two years.
I was no longer sure about my future. And I wasn’t sure what to do with the loss of what made me significant…I was at rock bottom, hopeless, and depressed.”
But since coming to college, Francisco has become involved in Cru:
“God has been changing my life. I’ve met some of my closest friends and I got involved in a Bible study where I could be vulnerable and grow.”
And this spring, God led Francisco to go on our mission trip to Bosnia-Herzegovina––in an ethnically and religiously divided city that still bears the visible marks of war.
“The mission trip to Bosnia-Herzegovina was life changing.
I'm beginning to see that there's more to life than just graduating, getting a good paying job, and moving on to the next thing."
